8th Big Hike, 1927
The 8th Big Hike took members of the Black Hawk Hiking Club eastward to destinations such as Chattanooga, Chickamunga, Knoxville, Mount LeConte, and Gaitlinburg in Tennessee; as well as Asheville and the Cumberland Gap in North Carolina.
9th Big Hike, 1928
The 9th Annual Big Hike found the Black Hawk Hiking Club in places such as Minnehaha Falls, Itasca State Park, Hibbing, White Iron Lake, and Lake Superior Highway in Minnesota; as well as Green Bay, Wisconsin.

In 1929, the Black Hawk Hiking Club traveled to Detroit, Michigan; Windsor, Niagra Falls, and Prescott in Ontario; Rochester, Ogdensburg, New York City, and West Point in New York; Burlington and the Green Mountains in Vermont; Portsmouth, Maine; Bloucester, Massachussetts; and Lake Champlain on the New York/Vermont border.
